Garmin outline an Android-powered phone in 2010, Anyone Care?

Soon after the recent Google announcement for the free Google Maps Navigation for Android, Garmin in their Q3 2009 Earnings Call Webcast leak a plan for expanding their product family with a new android OS handset in 2010.

This is incredibly exciting news but not all that surprising: For over a year, Garmin has been promising an Android Phone in their Nuvifone lineup and just a  few weeks ago At a media event in Taiwan, a Garmin representative said  that the company’s Android smartphone will be unveiled this year.

We can assume that in 2010 a few other Android 2.0 devices will be readily available. So when they DO launch an Android Nuvifone… will anyone care?
