The Nikon S1000pj is Now Available for Pre-Order Via Amazon

Nikon is attempting to lasso the golden years of film projection with the world’s first digital compact to feature a built-in digital projector, the Nikon Coolpix S1000pj. The S1000pj is fairly standard for a high-end Nikon compact as a camera. It’s (perhaps overly) packed with 12 megapixels, a 28-140mm equivalent zoom lens with VR and a slow aperture, 2.7-inch LCD, etc. But it also doubles as a digital projector, allowing you to broadcast images on any flat surface.

The Nikon Coolpix S1000pj will enable shooters to view images and videos at up to 40 inches (we’re assuming measured diagonally) from a distance of 6 ft. 6 inches on any flat surface. The Nikon Coolpix S1000pj will also include a miniature projector stand and remote control for keeping the audience awake. The camera will even add music and transitions for a true slideshow feel.

The Nikon Coolpix S1000pj is set to ship in September for $430 and now is available for pre-order via Amazon.
