Verizon Wireless has announced its latest 3G data modem called the USB1000 Global modem. The laptop dongle offers users access to mobile 3G data networks in the U.S. and overseas.
This new mobile broadband dongle packs support all the connectivity you can handle — CDMA/EV-DO Rev. A, GSM/GPRS/EDGE and tri-band HSPA are all accounted for.
The USB1000, available for order on June 19 in Verizon-owned stores and online at www.verizonwireless.com, features Type A USB port compatibility, pre-installed SIM card, VZAccess Manager software for laptops, external antenna connector and VPN compatibility.
The modem is made by Novatel Wireless and costs $150 after a mail-in rebate and a service agreement. The largest U.S. carrier provides a variety of plan options for the USB1000, including a $130 monthly option that gives users 5 GB of data in the United States and 100 MB abroad. A $220 monthly plan gives users 200 MB of data in international markets, and 5 GB of data in the United States.
